Welcome to the Feld Hell Club's Special Event Station W8H Website

The Feld Hell Club is an international group of digital ops who enjoy using "Hellschreiber", a 1928 German code developed by Rudolph Hell. Feld Hellschreiber is translated into English as "Field Bright-writing". This mode is a derivative of CW and has a peculiar sound to the transmission making it easy to identify on the air. See the QSL card section to see what FH looks like on your waterfall. Frank, N4SPP, has been a tomb of knowledge concerning Hellschreiber. Please check out his website to learn about this fabulous mode.

At the Feld Hell Club main web page, there is a lot of information on Hellschreiber and the group's activities, awards, and contests, so please take a look. Membership is open to both SWL and licensed ops world-wide, so if you like what you see, then please join the club. Membership is FREE! Also, we have an email reflector on Yahoo. W8H will be transmitting from inside the Dayton Hamvention Flea Market from May 13 - 16th. Several FHC members will be manning the booth with 2 stations on the air simultaneously. Operation of W8H will be open to any licensed amateur. Our booth is located in Flea-Market East, in the center of the 5th row. The site is: FE - 4043 & 4044. Come by the booth, sit down a spell, and enjoy this fabulous digital mode. All are welcome!

W8H Frequencies During The Hamvention:

Operations on 15m and above will depend on propagation. (see below)
Most operation will be found on 40, 30, and 20 meters.

Testing operations from Dayton Hamvention will occur during Thursday, 13 May 2010, from noon EST until 6 or 7 pm EST.
Full operations will be from 1100 UTC - 0000 UTC on Friday / Saturday.
Additionally, full operations on Sunday will be from 1100 UTC - 1700 UTC.
We will be operating in the Feld Hell Club May Sprint and will be worth BONUS points. see rules - main FHC website
